Wokingham, 9th June 2024 – Trinity Concert Band’s highly anticipated Olympic Fanfare Concert at All Saints Church in Wokingham was a resounding success. The event, held on 8th June, saw a large and enthusiastic audience enjoying an evening of exceptional music, all in celebration of the Paris Olympic Games.
The band delivered a stellar performance, captivating the audience with pieces from renowned composers such as John Williams, Nigel Hess, and Gershwin. Highlights of the evening included the iconic Olympic Fanfare and Theme, the thrilling Chariots of Fire, and the beautiful Cantique de Jean Racine. The performance of Nigel Hess’ “Global Variations” was particularly well-received, taking the audience on a musical journey around the world.
“We are thrilled with the success of our concert and the positive feedback from our audience,” said Paul Speed, Musical Director of Trinity Concert Band. “It was a pleasure to see so many people enjoying the music and supporting our chosen charity.”
In addition to providing a night of wonderful music, the concert also helped raise funds for Stepping Stones DS, a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people with Down Syndrome. Through the generous donations of concert-goers, Trinity Concert Band was able to raise another £270 for this worthy cause.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended and contributed,” added Paul. “Their generosity will make a significant difference in the lives of those supported by Stepping Stones DS.”
Trinity Concert Band would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who made the evening a success, including the dedicated musicians, supportive audience, and all the volunteers behind the scenes. The band looks forward to continuing their mission of sharing the joy of music while supporting important community causes.
