More Than Music

Supporting worthy causes,
one note at a time.

At Trinity Concert Band, we believe music has the power to inspire, connect, and make a difference. Through our More Than Music campaign, we partner with a different charity each year to raise funds and awareness for causes that matter, using our concerts as a platform to give back to the community.

2026 Charity Partner: Parenting Special Children

Our current More Than Music campaign supports Parenting Special Children. Their mission is to empower families whose children/young people are neurodivergent and/or have special needs and/or disabilities including early life trauma.

About Parenting Special Children

Parenting Special Children was founded in 2006 by Ruth Pearse, CEO & founder and parent of neurodivergent children. The charity was set up to help other parents/carers navigate the world of SEND at a time when there was little known support for families.

Since then, PSC has grown steadily from one person to a team of over 40 with a wide range of specialist knowledge and lived experience who offer a variety of services to over 2500 families.

How We Raise Money

We raise funds for our charity partners through:

  • Proceeds from concert raffles, interval refreshments and programme donations
  • Collection buckets at concerts and outdoor events
  • Promoting their causes on our website and social media pages.

Our audience plays a vital role in supporting these efforts, and every contribution helps us make a difference.

Past Charity Partners

Since launching More Than Music in 2021, we’ve raised over £4,000 for the following charities:

2021-2022

We were delighted to support The Cowshed, raising vital funds to help them provide clean, ironed clothes and essentials to people in personal crisis, regardless of their background. Alongside fundraising, we helped raise awareness of their vital work through our online presence and local press coverage. We also live-streamed some of our concerts, inviting viewers to contribute donations online to support this essential cause.

2022-2023

The money we raised for Thrive helped them continue their incredible work using gardening to bring about positive changes in the lives of people living with disabilities, ill health, or those who are isolated, disadvantaged, or vulnerable. As part of our partnership, small ensembles from Trinity Concert Band performed at some of Thrive’s gardening events, providing live music to enhance their community activities.

2023-2024

We were thrilled to support Stepping Stones DS, a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people with Down Syndrome, along with their families. Through our fundraising efforts, we contributed to their mission of providing tailored advice, activities, and resources to help individuals with Down Syndrome achieve their full potential. We also used our platform to raise awareness of their inspiring work.

2024-2025

We were proud to support Prostate Cancer UK, raising £1,350 to help fund vital research and support services for men affected by prostate cancer. Our fundraising also supported the Reading Prostate Cancer Support Group, who joined us at concerts to raise awareness of the disease and the invaluable support they provide to local men, and their partners and families. Alongside fundraising, we helped amplify this important message through our concerts, online channels and engagement with the local community.

Become Our Annual Charity Partner

Are you a local or national charity looking to partner with a dynamic, community-focused band? We’d love to hear from you!

How it works:

Each year, band members nominate local and national charities to be our More Than Music partner. At our annual AGM, members take a vote to select the charity for the upcoming year.

Benefits of partnering with us:

  • Increased awareness: Your charity will be showcased at all our events, highlighted across our social media platforms, and featured in our full-colour printed concert programmes.
  • Year-long fundraising: Proceeds from raffles, programme donations, and collections will go directly to your cause.
  • Community engagement: Connect with our audience of music lovers and local residents.

How to Apply:

To nominate your charity as our next More Than Music partner, email us at sponsorship@trinityband.co.uk with a brief description of your organisation and why you’d like to work with us.
