Northampton Here We Come

The National Concert Band Festival (NCBF) is the UK’s largest wind band and big band festival.

Having received a Gold Award at last year’s NCBF regional festival, Trinity Concert Band are entering again this year, with their eyes firmly set on making it through to the finals. The band did, in fact, get invited to last year’s finals, however, because they were being held in Glasgow, it was a logistical challenge to get the band there.

This year’s finals will be held at the Royal Academy of Music in London on the 1st and 2nd April 2012.

Andy Porter Posted Up North!

September 21st, 2011

Unfortunately for us our recently appointed MD, Andy Porter, has been posted by the British Army to the Band of the Kings Division based in Preston and has had to leave us suddenly. Andy was very sad to have to resign from the Band as he had loved every minute of working with us.

Superb Concert

September 21st, 2011

Our Autumn concert was a patron request concert, and we incorporated many of their favourites in the programme including, “Whiter Shade of Pale”, “Phantom of the Opera”, MacArthur Park”, “Entracte No3 from Rosamunde” and “Bohemian Rhapsody”.

Unfortunately, our recently appointed MD, Andy Porter, was posted by the British Army to the Band of the Kings Division based in Preston, and had to leave immediately.

Fortunately for us, Chrs I’Anson (Central RAF Band Percussionist), was our MD for the concert, and he produced an excellent concert after only three rehearsals.

We received excellent feedback from the audience. Some of the comments included:

“Will you please pass on my heartfelt congratulations to the Band. To say that Saturday’s concert was superb doesn’t really do it justice.  I was enthralled by each piece but especially by “Out of Africa” (because it is a favourite of mine anyway).  Many congratulations again and best wishes in the forthcoming competition”.

“The Trinity Band at it’s best. Peggy and I thoroughly enjoyed the Concert. The audience appreciation was very significant. The musical programme was just right. What an enthusiastic MD. Thanks for a wonderful evening”.

“Thanks for a wonderful concert last night and to get all our requests granted were a special bonus! Our thanks to all the band members”.

“I would like to say how much we enjoyed Saturday’s concert at the Trinity Church.  The choice of music and the performance was the best for some time. We particularly liked the skill and personality of Chris I’Anson. Keep up the good work and look forward to the Christmas concert”.
