Remembrance Sunday 2004

The Trinity Concert Band was again invited to play for the Regimental Rembrance Services for the REME in November 2004. The event was enjoyed by all.

I would like to thank you and the Trinity Concert Band for your extremely professional performance at our Remembrance Service yesterday. The quality of the playing was excellent and added greatly to the atmosphere of the occasion.

Please pass on our appreciation and thanks to all members of the Band from all reanks of Arborfield Garrison. This was the third occasion that you have "stood-in" for the REME Corps Band, and on every occasion you have excelled-thank you very much!

From Command Headquarters Arborfield Garrison - 15th November 2004

October Concert 2004

A packed audience gave the Band an enthusiastic welcome back onto the Bearwood Theatre stage for a scintillating programme of music entitled A Musical Journey At our October concert.

A brief sight of Piper David Spencer was followed by a programme of music from around the world. Read the newspaper coverage of the event and view the musical programme.

The Baby College 2004

The Baby College asked the Trinity Concert Band to perform a short programme of music for children aged 1-3 years and their parents. The Band arranged and performed a selection of popular music and nursery rhymes to entertain the youngsters. This was a most successful event and one which both the Band and the Baby College wish to repeat in the future.

"We thought it was a tremendous success and the hall was packed. The parents thought it was such a unique, positive experience for their children. There was an awful lot of smiles, clapping and marching."

Director of the Baby College

Remembrance Sunday 2003

The Trinity Concert Band was invited to play for the Regimental Remembrance Service for the REME at Arborfield Garrison in November 2003. A most prestigious engagement for Earley's Band, and one that was very well received.

"Thank you for your excellent performance at our Remembrance Service. The quality of the playing was excellent and added immeasurably to the atmosphere of the occasion. I would particularly commend the playing of the Last Post, which was first rate.
Thank you from all ranks of Arborfield Garrison."

Received from Joyce; 24/05/07;

"It has been such a pleasure to see the band develop under its new musical director.  We had enjoyed the band in its last formation and wondered if it could retain its quality.  I think the last concert proved that Trinity Concert Band has evolved into an exciting group of clever musicians.  I wish the Band every success for 2007/2008."

Fascinating Rhythm's Concert - 15th October 2005

Thank you very much indeed for inviting us to such an enjoyable concert last week at the Bearwood Theatre.

It was a pleasure to meet you before the performance and to be greeted by Jan who made us feel very much at home.

The performance was a fitting tribute to your late wife, Angela,  whose spirit lives on through the band.  As you say it is an enormous extended family with musicians of all ages participating.  That is probably why it is so successful.

It was a privilege to be there with you and we look forward to the next concert and hope that we shall be free to come along  again.  To stand a better chance of getting advanced warning of dates,  Carole and I have decided to become patrons so that we don't miss out.

Yesterday's concert was so wonderful - for its beauty, quality, clarity, sadness and celebration. It was so brave of you to lead and conduct your Band on such a sad and emotional day with such dignity and enthusiasm. You were right - an occasion never to be forgotten. We were joined yesterday by friends who had not heard the TCB before - they have become immediate fans. Thank you .
With very best wishes

Just a note to thank you for last Saturday evening concert. It was really wonderful.

Neither of us had been to a Wind band concert before & and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I used to commute to London with Angela when she used to talk about the band a lot. She would have been very proud of you all. We shall see you again at Christmas at the Bearwood theatre.

Best wishes, L & P R.

Spring Concert - 16th April 2005

Audience Comments:

Congratulations on another fine concert which we enjoyed at Bearwood last night every bit as much as we did the Christmas one and the New Year one at Trinity Church. This time I arranged for my brother and his wife from Devon to stay with us specifically to attend as we had told them so much about your activities and directed them to your website. They were not disappointed. As I mentioned previously, the inclusion of the solo and smaller ensemble pieces makes for a very interesting and varied concert. I am still waiting to hear John Sayer perform Roger Harvey's arrangement of the John Stanley Trumpet voluntary. Good luck with the trip to Germany , meanwhile I will continue to follow your fortunes via your excellent website and attend as many concerts as I can.

It was a wonderful concert last night! I thought the sound was rich with all those extra instruments and the tempo was pacy also. The choice of numbers was excellent, so varied and with plenty of oomph!!. I especially liked the medley from "Les Miserables", with that haunting trumpet taking up the theme over the other instruments, and also the Tijuana Brass showed off all the instruments well. Certainly all the folk around me thoroughly enjoyed it. The old lady of nearly 100 was amazing - she was walking down those crowded steps without a stick or someone's arm to steady her! There's hope for us all!!

New Year's Concert - 29th January 2005

Audience Comments:

Congratulations on another fine concert which we enjoyed every bit as much as the Christmas one at Bearwood. The bowler hat suited you - I was put in mind of Acker Bilk, but then I think a striped waistcoat might have been a step too far! I particularly liked the 'Queen of Sheba' and the cornet solo. The inclusion of these solo and smaller ensemble pieces makes for a very interesting and varied concert - (I would travel a long way to hear John Sayer perform with you Roger Harvey's arrangement of the John Stanley Trumpet voluntary). It was good to meet you in the interval and have an all too brief introductory chat. I am sure there will be many other opportunities as we intend to hear as many of your concerts as we can. In between I will follow your fortunes via your excellent website . Long may you all prosper.

Christmas Concerts - matinee and evening December 2004

Audience Comments:

Dear Michael,

Firstly, may I say much I enjoyed last Sunday's Christmas concert. It was really very good indeed. All of you have done so well, in three years, and have gone from strength to strength. May you continue to do so.

Secondly, I particularly enjoyed the selection "My Fair Lady" - you played it brilliantly.

Please convey my good wishes to the Band, andof course to you yourself.

Should ther be any other piece of music you would like for the Band to play, I would be delighted to buy it for you.

I wish you all the goodwill of the season and a healthful New Year.

M L (Patron)

Dear Michael
I congratulate you and the whole Band for the recent fantastic concert at Bearwood College. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed it as did the rest of the audience judging by the enthusiastic response to every piece you played. Especially entertaining was the Anderson piece "A Christmas Festival". I personally thought you should have taken a second curtain call at the end following your encore"We Wish You a Happy Christmas" as the audience obviously wanted to show you that they recognised all the hard workand effort which had clearly gone into the rehearsals leading up to the concert. You should not be so modest!. We attended the afternoon performance and were greatly tempted to listen to it all over again in the evening but that was already a sell out. You all seem to have a lot of fun performing and it shows. We look forward very much to the January concert. Your music making brings a great deal of pleasure to a lot of people and long may it continue to do so. Your impressive Website also does you credit. Ahappy Christmas to you all.

Yours sincerely, MC

Hallo Michael,
Just a quick note to thank you for yet another most enjoyable concert on Sunday- so pleasant to have some familiar and some less familiar melodies, and the carols are always lively.

I look forward to the next concert.

Best wishes for Christmas and a successful 2005.
