About Us
Trinity Concert Band is a community band, its members spanning a wide range of musical ability, from professional musicians to talented amateurs. Founded in July 2001 to bring together musicians who enjoy playing in a group of friendly, like-minded and mutually supportive people, the band now comprises over 40 playing members whose enthusiasm and dedication has resulted in presenting and performing concerts to a very high standard.
In recent years TCB has engaged in two European tours, firstly in 2005 to the picturesque German town of Wernigerode, and later in 2007 to the cultural city of Prague. These trips were hugely successful both musically and socially.
Closer to home, the band recently performed at the newly renovated Brighton Bandstand, where they entertained holidaymakers as well as some of their valued Patrons, who accompanied them for the day.
Trinity Concert Band have held four very successful one day workshops, where guest conductors are invited to work with the band on music which is more challenging than their regular repertoire, whilst maintaining the fun and enjoyable atmosphere that comes from making music together.
In 2010, the band ventured to Northampton, where they were awarded a prestigious Gold Award at the National Concert Band Regional Festival. In 2011, under the baton of Chris I’Anson, the band returned to Northampton, where they were thrilled to receive a Platinum Award, with automatic entry into the finals at the Royal Academy of Music, London - a true indication of the strength of musicianship achieved by the band.
Trinity Concert Band plays music from all sources – classical transcriptions, original concert band compositions, music from stage and screen, pop, rock and swing as well as traditional marches.
As well as playing music, the band also has social events with something to suit everyones taste, such as barbecues, nights out and theatre trips.
